Luggage deposit in Rome: Where can I store my luggage?

Most often, the easiest way is to ask at your hotel reception after check out if you can leave your suitcases and bags until the final departure. Most hotels do offer a small space for your luggage near the reception for free.

1. Luggage deposit at the train station Termini in Rome

Termini is the main railway station in Rome and situated in the city center. Luggage deposit is called “deposito bagagli” in Italian. The service is found near the Via Giolitti directly in the train station. The price for 5 hours is 6 euro. From the 6th to the 12th hour, add 60 cents per hour. Starting from the 13th hour you only pay an additional 40 cents per hour. Before the luggage are stored, they are being checked and sealed to prevent them from being opened. The luggage deposit at Termini in Rome is open everyday from 6 am to 11 pm.

2. Information about luggage deposit with Stow your Bags in the city center of Rome

“Stow your Bags” is the modern way of luggage storage. It is a private company with currently two locations in Rome. At “Stow your Bags” you can leave your bags and suitcases for a few hours or several days. On request, your luggage is even sent to the airport – how convenient! This means no more rush trying to get your luggage just before heading to the airport. The deposit for one day costs 8 euro. But you also have the option to leave your bags for 3 hours for 4 euro.

Luggage deposit locations by Stow your Bags in Rome:

  • Via dei Chiavari 8, Rome: This location is not far from the Pantheon and the Piazza Navona
  • Via degli Zingari 12, Roma: The second address is close to the Colosseum and the II Vittoriano monument. You can get there by metro on line B at the station “Cavour”.

3. Information about luggage deposit with Bags Free in Rome

“Bags Free” is another private company that offers luggage storage in Rome. However, it goes a step further than “Stow your Bags”. When you register on the website of “Bags Free” you can have your luggage picked up at your accommodation in Rome at a specified time. The luggage is then brought directly to the airport or the train station. Thus, you can enjoy your last day in Rome and not worry about your bags. The pick up service and transfer to a luggage deposit is priced at 6 euro per bag, and 9 euro per bag if you want to have it sent to the airport. Finally, you can also go directly to the luggage deposit location and stow your bags for 4 euro per day.

  • Via del Castro Pretorio 32, Roma: This address is only a few steps from the train station Termini, and so accessible by metro on line A and B.
